Young Money, a division of InCharge Education Foundation, needed a robust, self-paced training website where college students could learn about money matters and become financially responsible. Digitec worked with the InCharge Education Foundation to develop a highly interactive, games-based course.
Digitec worked with their design partners, 28|20, to create a site that reflected Young Money’s youthful audience. The instruction uses a scenario-based design and includes numerous educational games so users can "Grab Todd’s Cash" while they learn. The scenarios are character driven with the user teaming the fictitious character to challenge “Todd” in each game. Each game is based on content found within the character’s financial records. When the user successfully completes a section, they are given the chance to compete in a timed bonus round.
The website tracks the user data through a database, as well as the user’s progress throughout the game. The database also tracks the user’s bonus round times and the top bonus round winners are given prizes at the end of each month.
Features:
- Self-paced Web-Based Training course
- Highly interactive and fun, using educational games to "earn" and learn
- Robust database driven XML and Macromedia Flash website
- Dynamically tracks user information, as well as their progress through the site
